Scottsdale Apartment Intruder Strikes Again . . .
and watches them sleep has struck again!
Last Saturday, a woman in her 20's living at San Tropez Apartments
woke up around 6:30am to find a man watching her at her
bed room door!
Luckily he ran out, and no one was hurt. Yet, it is still quite
a scary situation to be put into!
Here are a couple of the news stories off www.AZCentral.com

Burglar Arrested, then Released - Gilbert 85297

I have been working in Gilbert's 85297 Zip Code recently, North East Corner of Higley and Queen Creek to be specific.
There have been a large number of burglaries here recently as you can see on the Crime Map (www.azcentral.com/CrimeMaps)
What is happening?
Almost all of the recent burglaries are happening at night, WHILE people are sleeping in the house. Luckily no one has been hurt or injured.
How are they getting in?
It seems like the burglars (one or more) are getting in through unlocked doors, or Back Arcadia Doors that are not secure, and with out an Anti Lift Check.
The police have also reported that they think sometimes he/they enter the house/garage during the day, and hide till everyone goes to bed.
Has anyone been arrested?
Yes, but even when one of the suspects was arrested, the burglaries did not stop. Just recently, this one suspect has been released, but no longer lives in this neighborhood.
What should you do?
- Keep all Doors and Windows locked at ALL times. Especially the door from your Garage into your house
- Do NOT leave your Garage open unoccupied
- Check your Garage and all CLOSETS and hiding places BEFORE going to bedVinay

Security Cameras Come to the Rescue in a Violent Robbery
Best protection of course is to have both!
Here is a link to a News 4 Jax story where the Security Cameras
lead to the arrest of 3 individuals.
http://www.news4jax.com/news/17056690/detail.html
A Home Security System's purpose is first of all to prevent
any burglaries from ever happening! If someone breaks into
the home, the next goal is to scare them away with a loud siren.
Third step, is to record the audio evidence (if you have a Two Way
Voice System) and or call the local police to respond.
The main thing, is to prevent the burglary, and if someone
does enter, to get them out ASAP to limit the amount damage
and loss.
Security Cameras on the other hand are more for recording
the burglary to later catch and arrest the suspects. A Security
System on the other hand is more of a deterrent, while the Cameras
are more capture the evidence.
Of course, another thing to consider is where is all the video on the
Security Camera going to be recorded? On a computer, on a DVR,
what happens if they steal the computer or DVR?

Scottsdale Home Invasion
The story is very gruesome. On the positive side, both of the victims are ok. They were both taken to the hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Here are some links to the stories.

I actually spoke with the gentleman last night, and even after all this, he's incredibly positive, always looking for the best to take out of all situations that life hands him.
He is incredibly friendly, and I just can't imagine how anyone could hurt a person so kind hearted.
At the same time, I'll say they are very lucky! Normally burglars do NOT want to deal with people in the house, and when they do, it can shock them and cause them to do things with out thinking about the consequences. Making the best out of a bad situation, at least the couple are still alive without any major life altering injuries.

Appliences, Tubs, Fixtures. . . When's the best time to get an alarm?
The owner actually was planning on getting a home security system, but figured he'd do it after he moves back into the house.
In the minds of burglars, when a home is getting built, or renovated, that is the BEST time to break in! Think about it.
- The house his empty
- Many things are still in the packaging, brand new ready to go
- Doors and windows maybe old and unsecured
- Neighbors won't question anything as they don't know the new owners, and if they see people taking stuff into/out of the house, they'll just assume it's the contractors, especially if it's done in the day time!
What can you do?
Get your home monitored with a security system BEFORE you move in,
and before you leave ANY thing of value in the house!
With new systems, you do not need a phone line, and the company that installed it should be willing to come back after you move in to finalize the system to your needs.
Another thing to note. Check your insurance policy BEFORE doing big remodel jobs like this. The owner I spoke with today, mentioned the insurance company does not want to pay the claim, as the rule is that you have to move into the house before 30 days after closing! The insurance was paid for, and the agent knew he was remodeling, but how they bring this up! If you want to know who the insurance company is, to avoid them, contact me personally.
Anyway, let's all work together to make the lives of the criminals as difficult as possible.
All the best,
Vinay

Garage Door Openers and Car Registration Info. . .
Right through the Garage Door with the remote
opener!
This happen a while ago, and here is what happen.
My friends were at Church. At the end of the service,
they went to their car, and saw that it was broken
into. So they called the police to file a report.
No big deal they thought. As the couple drove separate,
the wife arrived home first. She noticed a few things
strange, like the dogs were outside, instead of inside the house.
Maybe her husband arrived first.
She got to the master bedroom, and it was a mess,
Typical men!
But no, she soon realized that they were burglarized!
This happen in broad daylight, and in fact one of the
