How Easy is it to Break Through a Door?

Pretty easy on most doors!

No matter how strong your locks are, it is the door frame that is the weak link!
The door frame is made out of the same White Pine wood as the rest of the house, and it is not very strong.

As you can see in the pictures below, the lock wasn't picked, or "bumped!"  The lock didn't even break, but with just one shoulder, the door frame broke letting the door open!

So, the story behind these pictures?  This happen in an office building.  One of the owners locked his keys in this room!  He didn't have the much time on his hands, so he just used his shoulder, and a little body weight and got right in!

Moral of the story:  It doesn't matter how strong your locks, and or dead bolts are, the weak link is the door frame!

So what kind of material can you suggest instead of the pine that was used? Any solutions??

Well, according to the code in most cities, your Front Door Frame must be made of a soft material, so that the firemen can break through, in case there are people passed out in the house from a fire. So, you could in theory use a stronger material, but that may not pass the code, and would be a fire hazard. Best option is a home security system.
